Bio
I am a curious & playful forever learner of this lifetime, ERYT500 yoga teacher, YACEP, lead yoga teacher trainer, hand balance coach, and retreat leader. I am a certified instructor in yin yoga, meditation & acro yoga and have countless hours of training in various disciplines of the yoga practice. I practice and teach mindfulness and meditation and am heavily influenced by buddhist and zen practices and I believe the best way to learn is through play.
With a background in music and the arts, I have always had a passion for play, creating, and connection through music, breath, and movement. I believe they are medicine and universal principles for connection. My functional movement & mobility focused teaching style honors traditional roots of yoga while encouraging curiosity, exploration, and development of awareness (mind, body & breath) through playful and boundless movement. My intention is always to provide a safe and empowering space for others to feel connected to themselves, and move in a way they feel free. I practice and teach mindfulness and meditation and am heavily influenced by buddhist philosophy and zen practices.
My main discipline, dedication, passion & purpose lies in the journey of self-mastery through inversions, hand/arm balancing, acro, and calisthenic practices. These physically demanding, highly confrontational and wildly empowering practices have taught me more about my pure potential and capability than I ever thought possible. 5 years ago I had to have a cervical spinal discectomy & fusion which forced me to rebuild my entire yoga and inversion practice. My personal practice and path as an inversion/ hand balancing teacher was profoundly reshaped following spinal surgery. Navigating major neck surgery completely transformed my relationship to my body. It opened my eyes to the absolute necessity of a safer, smarter, and more sustainable practice for myself & others. This pivotal experience formed the foundation of how I teach today. My mission is to help students and teachers safely & sustainably break through limiting beliefs, gain awareness, and unlock strength, stability, and confidence in their own practice so they can share these empowering spaces with others. If I am not teaching inversions in person or online you can almost always find me upside down somewhere!
It is my absolute favorite to get others upside down to gain a new perspective—on and off the mat.
